Progressive-scan video has less flicker and fewer motion artifacts than the traditional interlaced-scanning method, resulting in a superior picture. To take advantage of this feature, you must have a television with component video inputs that supports the progressive scanning mode. This unit will play MP3 files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 format. Each disc can have a maximum of 250 groups and 999 files per group.JPEG Disc Playback
This unit will play JPEG files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 format. Baseline and Progressive JPEG files are supported. A baseline JPEG file can have a maximum resolution of 5120 x 3413, and a Progressive JPEG file can have a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. All JPEG files on a disc can be played back in a slide show. You can zoom in on any selected image (1.5x or 2x). Each disc can have a maximum of 250 groups and 999 files per group.Convenience Features
Zoom
The Zoom feature allows you to get an increasingly close-up view of the image. Once the image is enlarged, you can also move the zoomed image around the screen.Resume Function
The Resume function allows you to resume playback of a disc from the point where you last stopped. The stopping point is cleared when the Stop button is pressed more than once, disc tray is opened, or the unit is turned off.Parental Lock Function
You can select a parental control rating from 0-8, which is protected by a 4-digit password.

Model Purchased: JVC XVN-332S Product Review: We purchased the JVC XVN 332 zone free DVD player to replace one of the existing zone free DVD players in the public viewing area of our reserve library. Our region free DVD players are used by undergraduate students to view Region 2, European DVDs, and Region 4, Asian DVDs as well as Australian and New Zealand films. I also own a zone free JVC DVD player at home. I purchased the JVC XVN 332 region free DVD player because there is a comedian I really like from the UK, Lee Evans, and I couldn't play his material. His comedy hasn't made its way over here yet so I purchased the Region 2 DVDs and bought the player and I can watch his stuff and some other things I've now picked up.
