Konka KD1800U Code Free Instructions
CHANING THE REGION:
1) Turn on player and open tray.
2) On the remote press 6, 6, 6, 6, Select.
3) A hidden menu will appear on your TV screen "D-1800 System Setup". Use the directional buttons to scroll down to "Country Code". Press SELECT on the remote and change the setting to the Region Code you need, 1 thru 6, however changing it to "13" to make it code free.
4) After entering the desired number press SELECT.
5) From this menu you can change other settings, but to exit the menu just press RETURN.
DISABLING MACROVISION:
1) Access hidden menu as described above.
2) Use directional buttons on remote to scroll down to "Next Page", hit Select, then "Macrovision".
3) The default setting is "1" which seems to mean "enabled". Press SELECT and then press the "0" button; this clears the setting.
4) Press SELECT and the setting changes to "0" which disables it.
5) Press RETURN to exit the menu
CHANGING THE DVD OUT TO NTSC/PAL
1) Open the slide panel on the bottom 1/3 of the remote control. Make sure the tray is closed.
2) Press SETUP on remote.
3) Use directional buttons on remote to scroll down to "Custom Setup" and then hit SELECT.
4) Use directional buttons on remote to scroll down to "TV System".
5) Press SELECT and the setting will change to either PAL or NTSC.
TIPS FOR PLAYING A PAL DISC ON AN NTSC TV WHEN THE MENU OPTIONS DO NOT WORK
1) Press stop and then go through the above CHANGING THE DVD OUT TO NTSC/PAL instructions and change the TV System to NTSC.
2) Press PLAY, the movie should start playing.
Other Tips: OP PROH DISABLE
Setting it to 1 - you can skip the "FBI warning" at the beginning of the DVD disk.
Default is 0 - which you cannot skip the warning.
